**Job Position** Sustainability Manager **Job Purpose / Job Summary** The main purpose of the Sustainability manager is to ensure that resources are managed in a way that does not compromise the environment or deplete the materials for future generations. The sustainability effort is also a key component for our business to meet our customers requirements and to secure the company position on the long - term. This requires taking a lead role within the area. In leading and monitoring sustainability projects, in delivering sustainable and low energy / low carbon projects, in communicating and ensuring proper reporting. The role demands an understanding of engineering in relation to reuse, re-manufacturing, recycling, energy monitoring & targeting, energy efficiency measures and the effects of carbon emissions and how to reduce them. **Key Responsibilities** **General** - Behave according to Knauf regulations, principles, and values - Strive for performance - Always put safety first and be a role model - Use and promote Knauf Continuous Improvement principles and technics - Be an efficient team player working well with all stakeholders (central team, regional team, local team, top management, different functions, sites, suppliers, local administration ) - Travel in the area **Project** - Drive sustainability projects in the area. Support action plan definitions, implementation tracking and reporting - Track and follow up data reporting (energy consumption and efficiency, Green House Gas emissions, water consumption, waste management ). - Use and Consolidate Knauf standardized reporting KPIs - Communicate with BUs and plants, ensure proper information sharing - Support Steerco preparations - Engage teams in sustainability actions, motivate teams, recognize good performance and support teams facing difficulties - Build up long sustainability roadmap for each single entity in the area **Technical** - In plants but also at country level, analyze and evaluate energy & CO2 reduction potentials in the plants by periodic audits and assessments - Support sustainability improvement actions in the area - Identifying sustainability risks and appropriate mitigation measures and highlighting any opportunities to improve sustainability performance. **Minimum Requirements** Education background A Bachelors degree (or equivalent level) in a sustainable, environmental, or and major engineering area **Work Experience** - Experience in multinational and cross functional projects - Experience in sustainability - Experience in gypsum industry, process industry, construction material will be a plus Knowledge Management skills: - Project management - Change Management: good communication& motivation of plant teams, organizing trainings - Adapting communication to various levels (plant, administration, technical teams, top management ) **Technical skills**: - Theoretical and practical knowledge in sustainability - Theoretical and practical knowledge on one (or more) following fields: Thermodynamic, thermal processing and industrial processing ,Combustion, Steam, Electricity optimization and management, Global energy optimization, Waste management - Perform Energy audits at site level and strong analytics capabilities - Experience with data recording and analysis Able to look for state of the art of energy efficiency technologies and sustainability technologies from other industries and public domain Behavior/Competencies An individual who; - Role model in safety - Leadership and Teamwork - Living and Leading Knauf Values - Assertiveness - Learning ability - Performance orientation - Ability to drive change - Moderation capabilities - Data driven - Strong problem-solving abilities - Is a strong fit with the Knauf values: Metrics - Year-on -year sustainability KPIs improvement - Contribution to strategic targets of the area - Projects definition, support and tracking - Support to investment definition and implementation
